The Old School

Overlooking the village green since 1873, The Old School stands well back from the road behind the enclosed Victorian Wall and playground. Positioned at the south end of the property this skilfully converted holiday home has a light and sunny sitting room overlooking the garden and meadows beyond. Retaining many architectural interior features the property has been tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard. The maisonette can accommodate upto 4-5 persons with NO smoking and NO pets please.

The village shops and a pub serving good food and ale are a short stroll across the village green and Drayton golf course is near at hand. Local transport is frequent to Abingdon the oldest market town in England and historic Oxford is just 20 minutes. Drayton is an excellent base from which to explore some of England’s finest towns and villages. London is 40 minutes from the nearby Didcot Parkway railway station.

Nearby is the market town of Abingdon-on-Thames, providing a full range of activities for all tastes. For the sporting there is the Leisure Centre offering numerous indoor sports and a heated swimming pool. More leisurely pursuits include fishing, boat hire and steamer trips to Oxford. Excellent facilties are available locally for golf, horse riding, tennis and sailing. Only 20 minutes drive away you will find the deraming spires of Oxford centred around the university with its splendid architecture dating from the 13thC. Visit the Ashmolean Museum, the colleges or go punting on the River Cherwell.

The maisonette is equipped to a very high standard, tastefully furnished and decorated. Facilities include colour TV, stereo radio, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine/dryer, microwave and electric cooker. Heating and electricity are included. All linen - duvets, sheets, blankets, pillowcases, drying up cloths, tablecloths, towels (hand and bath) are provided free of charge. The accommodation comprises: First Floor - spacious lounge/dining room, kitchen, shower/bathroom. Ground Floor - 2 bedrooms, 1 with double and single bed, the 2nd with 2 single beds. This room is L-shaped and can be divided into 2 sections. Price per week £275-£375. Short breaks can be arranged for any 3 nights.Flexible change over days.

From the A34 northbound, exit at Marcham Interchange - signed Witney and Abingdon. At roundabout take third exit, signed A415 Abingdon. Proceed to double roundabout, turn right B4017 signed Drayton. Enter Drayton village and turn left B4016 opposite Wheatsheaf Pub. The Old School is on the right.
