National Cycle Network

The Hanson Way (Route 5) runs from Reading through Didcot, Abingdon and Oxford on its route to Birmingham and on to Chester and the North Wales Coast. Telephone: 0845 113 00 65, visit the Sustrans website or send an e-mail.

Didcot to Wantage and The Ridgeway (Route 44) is a 11 mile route on quiet roads, byways and purpose-built paths from Wantage to Didcot via the Icknield Way with links to The Ridgeway National Trail and the Berkshire Downs. Telephone: 0845 113 00 65, visit the Sustrans website or send an e-mail.

The Ridgeway National Trail

Britain's oldest road covering a total distance of 85 miles, 137 km from Overton Hill to Ivinghoe Beacon. A long distance trail, much of which follows the ancient chalk ridge used by prehistoric man. The Vale of White Horse section of the Ridgeway is steeped in history with Iron Age forts and Bronze Age burial chambers. Cyclists can share The Ridgeway with walkers and horse riders all the way from the start at Overton Hill, near Avebury to Streatley on the River Thames, a distance of 43 miles, 48 km.

Sustrans

CTC

Faringdon Saturday Cyclists

A brand new clycling group. Leaves Faringdon Market Place every Saturday at 9am. Usually about 25-35 miles on road and at a scoiable pace. Occasional off road and pub-stop outings
